Reverend Vernon Linzie was born and raised in Oakland, California. He is the second of six sons born to the late Robert and Willie Lee Linzie. He received his formal education in the Oakland Public School System. He was licensed and ordained as a Baptist Minister in 1973 at the Greater Emmanuel Baptist Church in Oakland, CA where Reverend George Byrd was pastor. He graduated from Bay City Bible Institute, in Oakland, CA in 1973. In 1983, he received his B.A. Degree in Sociology and in 1985 his B.A. Degree in Speech Communications, both from Cal-State University, Hayward, CA.

In January 1991, Reverend Linzie relocated to Trenton, New Jersey where he joined the Galilee Baptist Church under the pastorship of Reverend Dr., John H. Harris, Jr. He met and married the former Florine A. Spence. He has served as a Church School and Vacation Bible School teacher. He has also served as Recording Secretary of the Baptist Ministers’ Conference of Trenton and Vicinity and also as Recording Secretary of the Middlesex Baptist Association under the leadership of Reverend William C. Riddick, Moderator. Reverend Linzie is the Assistant Pastor of Galilee Baptist Church and currently serves as Director of Church School. His hobbies and interest are interior decorating and sign painting.

Reverend Linzie believes his true calling is teaching, preaching and evangelism. One of his favorite scriptures is Matthew 9:37 ... “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few.”
